The yellow centers of the flowers are added next, one color mixture to represent the yellow in light, and one mixture to represent it in shadow.

I also paint darker color shapes for the parts of the stems that are in shadow, leaving the original lighter color to represent the stems in light. This method of painting the stems will help them to have a more organic feel in the final painting than if I had painted them as separate little sticks.
