Turning my attention to the flowerpot, I add 4 mixtures to
help round out the form by making the transition from the
flowerpot’s light side to its shadow side more gradual.
I’ve deliberately left the
edges of these mixtures sharp, in vertical bands,
so that you can see the process I’m following.
If I weren’t doing this painting for a tutorial
I’d probably soften these edges by blending them a little.
